About the DBIA

The Downtown Brockville Business Improvement Area is a non-profit organization, representing approximately three hundred other businesses and properties, in the Downtown Brockville area.

We aim to better the quality of life for our Downtown businesses and service providers. Our efforts are dedicated to ensuring a healthy economic environment for our community.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote Downtown Brockville as the heart and soul of a uniquely historic waterfront destination offering a diversity of cultural, recreational and commercial activities.

As business leaders in the community with a commitment to the quality of life and experience of the citizens of Brockville we are charged with the management of the Downtown Business Improvement Area.

To This End We Endeavour To

Value the waterfront, recognizing its importance as a natural attraction.
Revitalize the streetscape with improvements to buildings, public spaces and infrastructure in keeping in Downtown's historic character and with the highest standards of workmanship and design excellence.
Strengthen our economic base by providing member businesses with opportunities to enhance their individual business development and to prosper. Develop a diversified mix of quality shops and services. Extend our external market reach, realizing the City's tourism potential.
Foster an atmosphere of activity and excitement, thereby enriching the social and cultural life of the city.
We undertake our management with regard to the sense of tradition and emotional investment imbued in the Downtown by its citizens.

Downtown Brockville Structure

Downtown Brockville has a Board of Management, which is the governing body of the DBIA. Foremost, our Board of Directors (made up of volunteers from the downtown business community) is the chief decision-making body of the organization. The Board oversees policies, financial decisions, and general management.

In addition, Downtown Brockville employs staff members, including the Executive Director, and our Festival and Events Administrative Coordinator. Downtown Brockville staff members are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the DBIA.

Downtown Brockville Projects

Some of the projects carried out by Downtown Brockville include organizing our sidewalk sales and street events such as our Downtown Celebration. Downtown Brockville also works to help beautify our downtown by installing street banners and placing over 130 floral baskets within our downtown core.
