Whether you’re spending a day or a weekend we’ve crafted up this quick guide for all types of travelers! These guides are designed for a day trip or a one night stay. Combine multiple day trips for a long-weekend adventure!
1) The Nature Lover
Lock up your bike at one of our multiple bike locks and get ready to enjoy the river! Rent a kayak, canoe or paddle board and explore the 1000 Islands with guided maps and route recommendations by the Dive Brockville Adventure Centre staff. Or if you’re looking to get in the water, try scuba diving! An introductory class with no experience required lets you explore Brockville’s world renowned underwater dive park.
After an active morning you must be starving! Grab a satisfying and healthy lunch at one of our 2 bike-friendly certified cafes: Boboli and Winniebee's. Both cafes offer delicious sandwiches, soups, paninis, lattes and more that will leave you fulfilled and energized. If you feel like treating yourself both cafes also have a wide selection of desserts and sweet treats!
In the afternoon you’re off to explore even further into the 1000 islands with a boat cruise! Take a complete tour of the 1000 islands on the Brockville exclusive Wild Cat. View Boldt and Singer Castles, 3 historic lighthouses, the shortest international bridge and more on this 2 hour cruise!
It’s time to stretch those legs before getting back on the bike. Take a short 1 km walk through Canada’s first railway tunnel. With the original rock walls and ground water dripping it is an astounding experience. Add in the special effects, lighting and music and it’s the perfect way to refresh your mind and body before heading out.

There is no more appealing site than a water front view. Head on down to Block House Island to watch the sun set upon the St. Lawrence River. Watch passing ships, boaters or just embrace being surrounded by nature and watch the beautiful sunset before heading back to one of our bike friendly accommodations.
2) Art Enthusiast
Arrive to town and lock up your bike at one of our abundant bike locks and get ready to explore local galleries. There are three stops on this art tour: 1) From Here to Infinity Art Gallery 2) Kincaid Gallery and 3) Hang Ups Creative Framing gallery. From local artists to world renowned photographers, you’ll get to see a mix of artwork much of which was inspired by the breathtaking views of the 1000 Islands. All of the galleries are located within walking distance of each other and each have bike lock-ups nearby.
After walking the downtown core enjoy a delicious bite at the Brockberry. Enjoy fresh salads, savory burgers or even delicious pad Thai either in their dining room or on their patio.
Cabernet shiraz, Primo Rosso, Riesling VR, Chilean Merlot WV… spend the afternoon getting an inside look at wine making at Bodega Wines! Owner Eric Van Rijswijk opened up this downtown store front to give you insight on what to expect from his services. Wine making is incredible fun and Eric wants to share this passion with you! Have a bottle made, or grab one to go.

After checking into your accommodation, get ready for a 5 Star Show! The Brockville Arts Centre presents some of the best Live Theatre and Entertainment concerts in Eastern Ontario and 1000 Islands. The beautifully restored heritage theatre is well known for its comfort, friendly staff and fine acoustics. With multiple shows per week, book your tickets online here.
3) The Local Lover
Arrive to town and stay on the bike for a historical tour of our downtown core. Astounding architecture, historical landmarks, armories and heritage sites are all included on a guided bike tour from 1000 Islands Bicycle Co. The tour ends off at the Brockville Museum where the group will be given time to walk around the museum free of charge. With exhibits on industry in Brockville, the development of the St. Lawrence River, historical figures and more, you’ll leave an expert on all things Brockville!
After an active morning get ready for a delicious meal at Bud's on the Bay. Turkey apple sandwiches, gourmet burgers, seafood, stir-fry, and scrumptious salads are among the few items on their large menu that provides options for even the pickiest of eaters.
Head on over to Tall Ships Landing and check out the Aquatarium. Filled with interactive hands-on exhibits on the history, ecosystems and geology of the St. Lawrence River, this science museum offers fun for all ages. Salt water touch tanks, replicas of British war ships, ropes courses and the stars of the show, the Otters, offers hours of entertainment.
Grab an afternoon pick-me-up at O’Mally Kourt Fudgery. Home to over a dozen flavours of fudge, you can also grab ice cream and other British treats. Try their O’Mally Kourt Sundae: a scoop and a half of ice cream of your choice, your choice of sauce, whipped cream, maraschino cherry and best of all topped with pieces of fudge, and head on over to Block House Island and enjoy views of the river while eating your sweet treat!

Explore the world renowned Brockville Tunnel. Bringing tourists from all over the world, take this 1km walk through Canada’s first Railway Tunnel. Ground water dripping, the original tunnel walls, all set to ambient music and lighting makes for a surreal experience.

Co-owner Maciej is an ample cyclist himself so not only does he know the ins and outs of a bikers needs, but he is ready to deal with all emergencies. They want to make your ride as smooth as possible. They've even been known to do laundry for passing cyclists! Talk about service!
O'Mally Kourt Fudgery
If you're looking for a sweet treat, this is the place to go. Home to some of Brockville's best fuge, ice cream, and other sweet treats, you'll want to leave some room in your pack for take-aways. They're also one of three bike welcome stations!
Brockberry Cafe and Suites
The perfect place to stop in for lunch. They're a Brockville favourite and offer a respectable menu of their all-time favourites including the Ritz burger, Pad-Thai, and an incredible poppyseed salad. Enjoy the patio, or escape the sun and relax in their comfortable quiet dining room.

Selling homemade bike clothing in store, you'll find a cute new biking shirt to go along with your refreshing beverage and delicious sandwich. Stop in for lunch of breakfast and grab a sandwich, freshly baked pie or other in-house baked sweets!
Smoked meat, sandwiches, fresh baked goods and more, it's a classic quiet cafe. Home to delicious and fresh meals, stop in for a cup of joe and a healthy lunch before cycling on!
If you're looking to take a break from the bike, look no further than the Brockville Musuem. With a donation based admission, it suites all budgets. Dozens of exhibits on everything from carriages to hats allows for hours of fun-ducation!
