Shop Local Week: Eating Local

It's day 4 of Shop Local Week and we're talking about eating local!

There are 38 places to eat (more if you count the snack corner
at Golden Age Comics & Collectibles).

There's a pretty good variety too! Indian, Thai, Chinese,
Shawarma, English, American... we've got it all!

We also have your choice of coffee shops whose lates or
sweet treats will rival any big box store.

Don't let the term "cafe" fool you though. Our cafes are also home
to killer lunch options from classic soup & sandwiches to
chili burritos!

You may think you have to dress up to eat local but 71% of
downtown restaurants offer takeout which means you can
enjoy outstanding local food in the comfort of your own home!

If you're looking to feed a family we've got that covered too!
With select restaurants offering frozen meals to go. Just pop it
in the oven or microwave and presto! A delicious home-cooked
meal your kids or guests will think you spent hours making.

There's also the added benefit that local restaurants spend 3x
more money locally than chains. And like we've said, the more
money that is spent locally = more money that
stays local = a better economy.

But when it really comes down to it, why should you eat local?
Because the food is
absolutely
incredible.

Hungry yet? We are! Check out all the places to eat Downtown here on our directory. Or send us a message via emailFacebookTwitter or Instagram and we can make some recommendations!
