NOTICE OF ELECTION
The Downtown Brockville Management Board Election Day is Monday, November 5th, 2018 at the AGM.
Offices to be elected:
The Downtown Brockville Board consists of 10 Directors. The directors will serve a four (4) year term running December 1st, 2018-October 31st, 2022. The Executive Positions for the new Board will be elected at the first Board meeting in December 2018.
Timeline for the 2014 election:
Monday, October 1st, 2018- Nominations open at 8:00am

Friday, October 26th, 2018 - Nominations close at noon
Monday, October 29th, 2018 – Nominee bios sent to membership via e-mail
Monday, November 5th, 2018 - Voting at AGM at 6:00pm
There will be a call for nominations from the floor.
On November 5, 2018, immediately following the close of vote the ballot box shall be opened by a DBIA staff member, an unassociated assistant, and the City Clerk and all ballots shall be counted. The unofficial results will be shared immediately following the count at the AGM.
Who is eligible to run or vote?
“Members of an improvement area consist of persons who are assessed, on the last returned assessment roll, with respect to rateable property in the area that is in a prescribed business property class and tenants of such property. 2001, c. 25, s. 204 (4)”
“Each member of an improvement area has one vote regardless of the number of properties that the member may own or lease in the improvement area. 2001, c. 25 s.204 (6)”
1. One ballot will be provided upon entrance to the AGM per member providing that member is deemed to be in good standing with respect to the BIA levy payable for the rateable property (ie. only one vote per business and property).
2. Members listed as a corporate or business name or number shall delegate the eligible vote to one person affiliated with the corporation or business.
